Subject Matter Review

The Praxis II-Principles of Learning and Teaching test designed by ETS measures a teacher's general pedagogical knowledge at 7-12 grade level. Over the 3 days, a content review of educational psychology and teaching/learning concepts will focus on these subjects that support the four domains: ]

I. Organizing Content Knowledge for Student Learning
II. Creating an Environment for Student learning
III. Teaching for Student Learning
IV. Teacher Professionalism

Overview of Pathwise Workshop Objectives

Participants will—

a. Learn to recognize the presence/absence of the 19 Pathwise criteria in range of educational settings;
b. Analyze written contextual information provided by the beginning teacher;
c. Develop written summaries of a teachers' performance from accurate observation notes;
d. Determine appropriate suggestions based on evidence collected;
e. Examine own teaching strategies/methods based on the domains and 19 criteria
