Springfield Ballet Workshop is a new, dynamic, and excellent mentoring dance training program and a 501-C3 nonprofit preprofessional performing company located in Clark County, Ohio. Founded and directed by Shir Lee Wu, a nationally known and well-established professional ballet master teacher and coach for 30 years, the Springfield Ballet Workshop is committed to developing the whole dancer and providing the most updated teaching syllabus for serious and talented young students through careful detailed instruction in a noncompetitive and nurturing atmosphere. The training integrates the best elements and technique from the Russian classical ballet method, Balanchine influence, and the French school inspiration. The program also provides students with structured, goal-oriented opportunities that help them develop discipline and confidence, achieve their goals, and appreciate the dance artform. In short, students will be instilled with great values that can be applied to any endeavor in life. Under Ms. Wu's guidance, the Springfield Ballet Workshop will offer high-quality performing opportunities for its students by bring in professional guest choreographers and master teachers to work with them during the 2004-2005 season. The Springfield Ballet Workshop also offers a dance program for youth and adults who want to learn to dance simply to enrich their recreation and improve their poise. the outstanding teacher award in 2002 from YAGP Chicago and the Artist
Teacher Award in July 2004 from The School of Dance of Chautauqua Institution.
